My sister's Windows Me is corrupted. Everything runs fine, but is really slow and freezes a lot and has a possibility of a virus. I want to format the whole system, but it won't let me. From MS DOS, it does not allow me to format drive C. I want to install a previous version of windows and start from there. Please help! Thank u so much! : )

When your computer starts up press f2 to go to the boot menu. Once their make the CD drive the first place to boot from. After that it will ask you if you want to delete everything on the hard drive. Reply yes and the OS should install. I know that is how it works on XP machines, but i am not sure about older versions.

It depends on what type of Windows you are trying to put on the computer. If you are trying to use a CD that might be your problem. It might not be reading the CD.
