I have a Compaq computer with 256 of memory and 80 in the hard drive.
I work a lot on photos and my computer is getting very slow. I need a faster computer for the pictures and also for the internet.
I would like to buy a Dell computer. What is better? Dell or Compaq?
I also want to be able to burn CD's using both trays at the same time.
Since I don't know a lot about these numbers and features, I get confused when I go to Dell's Website.
I really appreciate your help.

ok my wives computer was working fine but I wanted switch her mouse with another .. so i asked my boy to switch the mouse out and he said ok. he took the old one off then put the new one on. then the mouse didnt work so he just pushed the button and now the computer freezes in the middle of starting. but i can get it to boot in safe mode and the mouse and keyboard work so i went into hardware and installed new mouse shut it down the correct way and still freezes on normal boot. wife is very upset now she cant use her computer what do i do to fix it????

When scans it comes up with 1 severe/high alert level:1 but cannot remove it because it has an error 0x80501001 I think there is something wrong with computer because it has different pieces of pages and programmes open at once on top of each other. I have no viruses according to Trend Micro PC-cillin. I don't understand computers and need help.

Windows Defender keeps picking up this file. None of my other security software (Norton Anti-Spy and AVG) is finding it.
I've tried turning off system restore, removing the file then rebooting, but it just comes back. I've cleared my cookies and temp internet files. Every time Defender removes it, it needs to reboot my system just to have the trojan show back up.

I was trying to install a new hard drive. I turned it on and smelled burning wire. I shut it off. I checked the whole board to see if any chips burnt out because I have a little experience. Nothing was burnt. I'm thinking either power supply or bios battery? I turn the computer on and nothing comes up on the monitor and I hear this particular series of beeps. 1 beep (pause) 3 beeps (pause) 3 beeps (pause) 1 beep. I thought it was the memory chips too but I checked those out already. It wasn't them. Is there a way to test the power supply? What do you think could be the problem? Your help is appeciated to the fullest! Thank you.

Best explained by what I want to do. I am going travelling and want to create a file that has all my usernames and passwords for various websites. Since I want it to include financial institutions it needs to be secure. I do not like the XP encyp function as I may want to store the file on my flash drive and will go from PC to PC. I do not like the MS word password protect as it does not encrypt the data.

So I would be looking for a utility that encrypts and decrypts a file based on a given user name and password, where the user name and password would be used to generate the key.
