Pixels are how the photo is made up, its kinda made up tiny little squares. the more pixels the better quality your pic will be.
You can get the cheapest camera in the world and just put a bigger memory card into it. Its not the camera itself that holds the pictures, its the memory card.

The size of memory card dictates the number of photos. The no of pixels is the quality of the photo, i.e. everytime it goes up by 1 million pixels the more data is uses in the photo making it clearer and sharper. However, the more pixels the more space it takes up on a memory card.
Jessops are usually very helpful when it comes to buying camera. If you are looking for a bargin Froogle brings up some good ones

Yes I would reccomend a Digital Camera especially one that holds between 70 and 100 photos.
I would also reccomemnd you to pay 100 pounds or less.
You don't have to understand all the technical stuff because £100 will get you exactly that, £100 of camera.
You get what you pay for

The amount of memory (in MB) is the factor you should worry about. A camera with little memory could still store a hundred photos, but they would be really bad quality. Also a photo of nothing takes less memory to store than a photo of something (believe it or not this is true because of the way JPEG compression works), so a "number of photos" count is basically meaningless.

Most cameras will hold that many pictures, depending on the setting. The more pictures it holds, the less the quality, though. It's easy to figure out with the menu on the camera. Good Luck!

Why not go to C/Net and read through their comparison reports before you buy since your basic problem has aleady been resolved by the second poster.
Yeah, the prices are in US$ but I bet you can beat that angle.
Best!

I saw in BOOTS (an email they send me) that they have a SAMSUNG half price from 199 to 100 pounds. It is quite a good one. Check in your local boots.
