my computer frequently freezes during start-up. (usually when searching for the ide-drivers) all I have to do is press ctrl+alt+delete and it restarts and it works fine. what is the real problem and how can I fix it. I know that my computer is set from bios to halt on system errors (if i set it not to halt then I get a loud beep every time I start up and its annoying.) anybody know how to fix the error?

I am looking for a free program to "capture" audio and/or video off of a website and be able to save it to my hard drive preferrably in a common audio or video format (.mp3, .wav, .avi, .divx etc.)

I had one before I reformatted the drive and reinstalled windows. Also, I am able to run a program (command prompt, actually), that is located in that folder, so it must be there, but how do I get to it?

I put a 600MB rar file onto a cd to put a program onto another computer yet when I put the cd into the other computer it is no longer a rar file but an .iso file (I think) . Is there anyway to get it to show up properly? Thaaanks!

Recently had quite a few virus caused by the lack of the vunerability patch in microsoft. my comp was secure , at all angles . Due to above something got in and duplicated the windows valid licence box, telling me to click yes as it was secure, PESTTRAP(Do not go there)told me I had a virus and to subscribe, managed to eventually shake it off, but it opened the doors of hell, nt back door , I spy , others which totally block all of your communication, updates wouldnt download,on anti virus, microsoft, printer and webcam drivers taken out,something was even answering my questions on help sites, then on checking closed answers my questions were nowhere to be seen. I have now removed these via ewido. I am win xp home IE6 Bband option 2, all of my internet , email settings have been changed. I dont understand if I need Lan, Proxy.? I do know that my router is voyager 205 BT bband , I never used to see a dialup connection box, but think I was local settings,tried sys restore what do i do?

I've 2 computers all runing xp pro with a dsl connection on one. they'r connected directly without a hub thus using the crossover cable. after setting up the network, i recieve an error of network path was not found. from my observation, the computer which has the dsl connection is able to view the members in the workgroup but cannot access them. i've tried configuring them manually, renew ip address and disable the svchost services but the problem seem not to be solved. please help me resolve this menance.

I have a computer problem at work. First it would not load during start up. So we had the local computer guy come and "fix" it. Now it will not install network programs. It freezes while installing. I think the computer has some serious crashing issues due to it being the computer that holds all the programs on our network. I have brought it up with my boss many times that we need a seperate computer for the programs but she states everything is fine and we just need to reinstall programs. Which we can't! What is your opinion on what we should do?
