How do I copy a software I downloaded from the internet to a CD? When I try to "send to" or click and drag, all I get on the disc is the shortcut. Help please? I need to take this software to the office.

To copy a file onto a CD, you must run a software application. It is not possible to do this using the "drag & drop" method you described.

If your computer has a CD-burning capability, you will probably see an icon on the screen like " CD creator " or " Burn CDs & DVDs ", or something similar.

If there is no icon, click on "start" then "programs", and look there.

Clicking the icon will start the program, you then follow the instructions.

Good luck

Are you copying from the icon or from the program folder? The icon is the shortcut. You should be able to copy from the program folder and then use your cd burner program to "burn" it on the cd.

You need software to burn to a cdrom.

Here is the link to a great free (open source) burner software.
