what is a SM BUS CONTROLLER? it is unknown hardware in my computer, i lost the CD of the motherboard drivers and i cant identify it, the computer brings me always memory protection error frequently and errors like memory cannot read,,,, what should i do??i think that the SM bus controller is causing these problems

..driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) I recently bought a new harddrive. I installed Creative Sound Blaster Live 24-Bit but did not restart the comp and there was sound. The day after, it did not. Just today, I tried uninstalling and re-installing and that's what I get..help please :)

Ok, this has been the day from hell. I purchased a used IBM Thinkpad. It has windows 98 installed on it. I purchased the wireless router by Linksys. It say's compatable with Windows 98 and the computer supports the other setting. I installed the software on my desktop with no problems. When I went to install on the laptop, it said that I must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer. So I tried to connect directly from my modem to the notebook, but I ran into a problem because the cable is smaller on the notebook. So I thought ok, I will save the newer version of Internet Explorer to my flash devise. I saved it from my PC. However, the notebook said it needed the installation software for the flash drive and unfortunately I no longer have it. So then I had a USB cable and connected that from the modem to the laptop. The laptop needed the installation software, so I downloaded the software from Comcast. After I restarted I got a message saying that the connection could not be

I've a problem in my PC and don't know how to solve it!!
- The proplem is " The PC is Turnning on and off (flapping) from itself and it also open from it self when the power cable is plugged
,some times it enter the windows but not more than 5 minutes or less and it shut down;
i don't know what the proplem is ,is it from the Power supply or from MotherBoard or what,and also note the proplem still found even when remove the Hard Drive.

since the computer up here doesnt have iTunes, i tried to rip my Hawthorne Heights cd on windows, but it doesnt show anything like the artist name, it just says unknown artist, and no matter how many times i try to change it, it shows up "unknown artist" for everything! how can i fix it?

My computer "finds" my Lexmark all in one printer, then goes to load it. Just as its coming to the end of the file transfer BAM! All of a sudden a window pops up and says "Cannot Install this hardware". Anyone else have this problem with Lexmark cuz my computer guru is stumped as well! lol

i'm trying to merge my g/friend's pc with mine, but i want to maintain each OS independantly and i am having trouble booting up her OS. mine (master HDD disk 0) boots fine, and i have tried modifying the boot.ini's on each PC multiple different ways, so i think it's a jumper setting that i'm getting wrong on the slave device.
