I wish to do a project in Computer Science in Java or VC++ as a part of my UnderGraduate pgm.
Pls give me some ideas for project.
I present many abstacts but all are rejected.I will be very thankful for such ideas.

I don't mean technically - I have all the programs and hardware; what I don't know is where to find the program content (other than, for example, CNN's awful "CNN Radio" button, which offers only the moronic sounds of an XM Canadian commercial aimed at the American mindless). I'd like the code for an MS-DOS batch file which takes in the first 8 characters from the file "data.dat" and then writes a new file "output.dat" containing just those first 8 characters.

For Example:
If "data.dat" contains the text:
hello_are_you_ok

the batch file should write the following into "output.dat":
hello_ar

Could answerers please leave the code in their answers (please stick to DOS commands as their is a reason for this, please do not ask me to write it in another language).

Hi!!! I have a dell computer which was given to me. It had so much stuff on it I decided to clean it and put windows xp sp2.
Well, after a couple of hours I managed to get windows xp on. When I turned the computer on the next day I realized I left an aol cd inside and I took it out when the computer was still running in its beginning stage. I must have interrupted something because now my computer screen goes blank right after the windows screen.
Can someone help me correct this problem. Thank you!!
