It is saved into whatever was the "active" directory at the time you saved it. If you know the name (or part of the name) use the Search option on the Start Menu to look for it. Select All Files and Folders and type in the filename. It will find it for you. Note where you find for future files.

The default location is in the browser preferences.

If you're using Firefox click on Tools -> Options and then the downloads button near the top right, the default save location will be displayed.

I can't be certain but I think Internet Explorer defaults to the My Documents folder unless you've already downloaded something, if you have then it uses the same place as last time.

on the hard disk! where else?
If i understand ur question though, u're saying that u saved it somewhere but don't know where.
What you can do is this: use the advanced search and pick a date. That should get u all the files u saved that day.

It goes to your hard drive. To find it again, just go to Start--->Search (or Find, perhaps) and type in either part of the file name or some text that is in the file. Then it will pop up in the search results fairly quickly. Once it pops up, you can right click it and then click on "Properties" at the bottom of the pop-up menu to see its actual location in your hard (C:/) drive.
