The "unlock scanner" message refers to the physical scanner. At the factory scanners come locked, meaning the light that is needed to scan an image won't actually move up or down, this is in order to protect the scanner when shipping. If you look at the bottom of the scanner, or the manual, there should be some switch to slide forward that will unlock the scanner. As for the install CD, you can download the latest software from the Lexmark website. I have included a link to the x5150 drivers for Windows XP in my sources, also a link to the manual
