How do I replace all the server hard disks?
I have this problem of space with the HDD on the server. I have 3x36 GB right now (RAID 5), and I am planning to upgrade to 3x300 GB (RAID 5) and use it as a file server. I will be deploying a backup and archive server for the same but that's a different story.

What I am looking at some kind of solution that I can easily remove the old hard disks and plug in the new one all the data software and settings are on the new hard disks. And the server runs on Windows 2003 standard server.

Guys your input will be a real help to me...

I am trying to set up a friends computer. She has a new 250 gig SATA drive and I just plugged in her old IDE drive from her previous computer. I am running XP from the new drive.

First off do I still need to use jumpers to determine slave and master if one is SATA and the other IDE?

I want to get all of her files from her old "my documents" folder on the old IDE drive onto the new drive. Both drives are visable in explorer but the old my docs says access denied. I know this is because I've logged into a different windows XP on a different drive with a different user account.

I tried setting the old drive as primary in hopes to log into the old XP account just to move the files over that way but I get an ominus blue screen when it tried to launch. I think its that security measure that comes into effect when XP sees a new mother board... or something.

I also tried using the Administrator account to access it, still says denied.

Anyway, any help ASAP would be awesome

THE SOUND IS LIKE STATIC,THE PICTURE LOOKS GOOD,MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THE SOUND,PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!

ok this is exactly what i do: I go to options. then account info.
There is my yahoo id card. I changed my name to my real name, and it is still there correctly. there is no save button on the left, there is a finished button on the right. I have done this several times.
but ok, say i emailed you, and you go to your inbox, without clicking on the message yet, where all your messages are posted and where it identifies who the mail is from that is where it still says Kimberly KoWitch???????
am i just being stupid? why does this seem so hard?

I love building computers when money is there and was thinking on my next project. I would like to see some total over kill here yet would show real time differences.

Let's talk:
Memory
Hard drive speeds
Bus Speeds
Cables
Power Supplies
Video card and memory amounts on them
PCI bus speeds

What else I know there are so many variables and different speeds on things.

Also processors what is best? I am partial to boards that run dual processors. Is there a computer that in dual threading/dual processors and 64 bit?
