I have a Canon Powershot SD400, and I want to upload files to the memory stick (SD card). Windows XP seems to only want to let me download from the camera. Is there software or a way to upload pics to the memory card?

First and only thing: do you have a memory card reader? SD, CF, Sony's MS, Mini/Micro, MMC, RS, it doesn't matter the exact name but the generic name of it is usually Flash memory card reader, or any combination of those words, get the SD variant to fit the SD card, it doesn't need extra driver, if the computer has USB, that is enough for such device to work.

Plug the reader in, it will show up in Windows like "Removable Disk" and you can read and write to it. You need to create a subdirectory there as "DCIM" (no quotes) and dump the pictures there, although the SD card probably got the DCIM setup already.

so that you're going to apply the digital camera w/32gb SD card as a conveyable confusing rigidity and as time-honored storage gadget for the digital camera's photos? if it truly is the case, it truly is an fairly undesirable idea. ideally you should upload the photos from the digital camera each after image shoot(or commonplace) on your workstation and then reformat it so it truly is waiting for the subsequent shoot. i do not advise making use of you're digital camera's SD card for lengthy time period storage no longer to point time-honored storage for different information on your workstation.
