there are programs i don't use that always are on my start up menu, things like photoshop ,etc. i rarely use them yet they are ion my start up all the time.how do i get them off?

Everytime i try to watch videos fo anysort on my comp, the cpu maxes out (100%), and I have to end that program to do anything. when i end that program, be it WMP or a IE/FIrefox window trying to play video everything goes back to normal. I have a NVIDA graphics card, with the latest updates, but that does not seem to help, and I have reloaded WMP a well, to no avail.

I need to buy a laptop, and i need your recommendation. I will be using it for mostly work and website creation/editing.

I do not need for gaming...

My budget is below $2000 but do not want to compromise on quality.

I was using an Apple but i would like to switch to another brand, because i don't think it is compatible with other laptops.

An Apple iMac is not so compatible with other computers, right?

Do people no longer have the ability to use the internet. Like it isn't easy enough already to find anything - and I mean ANYTHING you would ever want in the world, just by doing a google/yahoo/generic search engine search.

People have to come on here asking where can I get some shoes - where do I buy food from - where do I buy a DVD from.

If you are competant enough to use Yahoo Answers then why can't you search on a search engine...

Jeez - 1 year older today and I've turned into a miserable whinging old g1t.

My mom did a system recovery on the computer so I backed up the Mozilla Firefox shortcut beforehand onto a CD. It had my bookmarks on there (loads of them). When I checked to see if the programme would work from the CD, it did, and all my bookmarks were there.

But now, after I've had to download Firefox again, when I open the shortcut that's on my CD nothing's there - no bookmarks or information that I've saved.

So have my bookmarks just gone and I can never get them back again? Some of them I really need!
WAS there anyway to save my bookmarks??

I reformatted my computer, and it has it's sound card built into the motherboard so I'm not sure what type it is, does anyone know how I can figure that out? If I can find what type it is I can easily enough find a driver for it.
