You are right. I would assume most people on Yahoo! answers are computer literate and would therefore be able to find their own shoes on-line, yet obviously both of us are wrong. When people go to the Yahoo! website they must skip the search engine (because they cannot tell what it is) and come straight here like a trained monkey incapable of original thought. Oh well.

Firstly happy birthday. In answer to your question, is it not possible that some people, unlike you or I, are completely computer illiterate and really don't know how to use a search engine? I know that from experience, I run a PC repair business and often get called out for the most stupid faults that take approx 5 minutes to sort simply because these people haven't a clue what to do. Not everyone out there are up to date on the techie side and also not all pc users know how to use their pc's, let alon the internet. I have clients who own pc's for the sole purpose of messenger or chat rooms and are lost as far as everything else goes. Hell, some of them don't even know what a search engine is!
Let them learn at their own pace and maybe one day they will understand what they are playing with.

Happy Birthday!
Have you noticed how quickly the answers start pouring in when you ask a question? Say you have just arrived in a new town you don't know and you really fancy a curry. Who is going to be able to tell you where the best place to go is? People on here!
Take my usual whinge, I can spend all day going into hundreds of shoeshops and still not find a shop with a pair of shoes to fit me. I bet if I posted the question on here, I'd soon get an answer!!

Well happy birthday!
in asnwer to your question....
sometimes it's not really stupid- it's because although you've looked in the most obvious places- it's possible those things werent found there. Therefore some assistance in obtaining certain things with some help from yahoo answer friends is not bad- you get things quicker than having to hunt down every single place. Plus recommendation is a good thing.
What are you doing on answers on your birthday?!

Some questions are asking advise and some are not. You never know where and what the answer is to some questions. Some ask just to pretend to talk to some people. Some people have always wondered about things, but were too embarrassed to ask. Here you have some sort of anonymity.

if you get traffic to your site, search engines will index your webiste, and also it will take your keywords and give importance to your keyword. so traffic is the most important thing in internet,
there are two things:
1) one is traffic
1) second is quality traffic
am talking about a website which has a 500 arround alexa traffic rank, and about 6/10 google's page rank.
get a free back link from this site, get a lot of free traffic, in this site you get free credits, and with that you get free traffic.
everything is free, http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?53747...
just get some easy traffic, also first 50 credits will activate you account, and then you will get your 100 free credits, then on you get free credits, with that you get free traffic.
Source(s):
get a disclaimer, privacy policy, terms and conditions, site maps, etc, these helps rankings,
also http://www.harmu.com for paid quality traffic, advertise on time basis, not on cost of clicks,

There could be only three reasons 1)Maybe people dont want to take the efforts of doing such an easy task or 2) they might really dont know it or 3) they just want to annoy people by just asking whatever they want

Because people are stupid and lazy and are now so lazy they let others do the thinking for them. They have the makings of industry fat cats, if we had any industry left.
P.S: Does anyone know where I can buy a loaf of bread and some milk please?

I dont know if people are kidding when they ask stupid questions, or are they really that stupid.
All they have to do is a search for it.
