These 2 programs were highly recommended, so my husband and myself downloaded them onto our computers. Now we are noticing the internet (page loading) running much slower than normal. Is this just the tradeoff for using these programs or is there a way to set it up that we've overlooked?

How does the random function work?

A program is a set of instructions that tells the computer exactly what to do, and the computer isn't capable of doing anything on it's own, yet asking it for a random number it's like asking it to make it's own decision.

I have some PHP scripts which I want to test and I dont have the needed time to upload them on a server each time to test them. I want to know how can I test my scripts offline, on my desktop/laptop itself. I also want to test the mysql etc.

Please do provide with some solid solution and if you dont have a good answer to this, just dont say anything.

A professor sent me their lecture notes but something has gone wrong. The link in the email has the file listed as a .ppt file but my computer will only save it as a .cgi file. I am not sure what to do and am considering panicking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Firefox now but I also want tu use IE7 that I just downloaded. I Exported my bookmarks to IE7 and it worked it's just that IE7 takes my rss feeds as bookmarks so how can i make IE7 recognize my rss feeds??

Have never owned a Mac, but am interested in them because of some comments made about viruses. Is it true that Mac users do not have the virus problems we Windows users have? Also, how about spyware.
