I want to get rid of all the programs on it and just have what was on the computer when I got it new. With my old HP I could just do a full recovery on it and it would clean the computer and reinstall everything that came with it. I now have a Gateway Media Center that doesn't have that on it. If I boot from the DVD that came with it, will it reinstall everything, including all the stuff that was loaded to work the Media Center.

Three lonelygirl15-obsessed amateur Web sleuths set up a sting using tracking software that appears to show that e-mails sent from a lonelygirl15 account came from inside the offices of the Beverly Hills-based talent agency Creative Artists Agency.

The apparent CAA link takes its place alongside other tantalizing pieces of evidence that lonelygirl15 is not who she claims to be: a copyright for the name obtained by an Encino lawyer, and a plot line that, leading speculation suggests, will turn out to be the lead-in to a horror movie's marketing campaign.

CAA spokesman Michael Mand said he "could neither confirm nor deny" that the agency is representing whoever is behind the 27 video posts. (Other talent agencies and production companies contacted by The Times denied any connection.)

I bought my pc two months ago, and every two weeks the os crashes, in the beginning , I had an error [ dump physical memory ] .. and few days after that ... the pc won't reach the windows xp welcome screen ,every time the pc restarts after giving the windows xp black screen and a quick blue screen after that ..
I though the problem might be because of the harddisk .. what do you think ? Please help ...

I wrote a program in VC++, that takes letters and tries to find words in them. Is there some dictionary DLL or something that I could use to see if the letters are a real word?
Example: the letters are AMSBETR, and I want 3 letter words. I send the letters "AMB" to this magic dictionary call and it returns a yes or no answer (yes a word, or no not a word).

I know other word processing programs and such use dictionaries. Did they all just "re-invent the wheel" or is it something already on a computer that they can acess??

I turn my computer on, as you do, and a few seconds after, turn the monitor on. Theres only one problem with that. The monitor won't stay on. As soon as the password screen opens the screen flickers (Sort of like turning of and off) Its not flickering though to be exact, its more like a flash. The screen will flash up the image, then 'turn off' for a few seconds and flash the screen up again.

The only way i can get it to work after that is hold the on/off button down towards the end of of 'off' part of the flicker/flash, leave it for five minutes and then turn it back on. Its a bit rubbish, obviously, because this can take a while!!!

I don't know what is wrong, whether its the monitor, the actual computer, graphics card or what. Really annoying and any help would be much appreciated!

I like reading the feedback that goes with the videos on youTube, but I can live without the profanity. Is there any way to apply a profanity filter to the comments posted under youtube videos? (similiar to the Yahoo discussion boards that give a 'profanity filter' option.)
