I cannot write emails in my yahoo account.?

I can copy and paste, but if I were to write a regular e-mail to a friend it will not let me. There is a red X at the top left of box where you compose. Please help.

Try changing your messages to compose in plain text. Go to options in the upper right hand corner, then go to general preferences and change the composing e-mails mode to compose messages as plain text.

Log out, close your browser, and reopen and log back in.
