They say when your laptop is pluggen in AC take the battery out to enhance it's life.and put it back in only when it's unplugged.is this for real?

im in the market for a good laptop. would like to spend under $700. are the dell laptops this cheap because of the stock plummet and the whole defective battery fiasco? a few months ago i couldnt find a dell laptop for $700 without those $300 off $1000 deals. whats up with these prices? are there coupons out there to bring the price down even more?

I checked in 'sounds and audio devices', but it says there is no audio device. It was working perfectly fine earlier today. I can only hear off windows media player.

Is that even possible? I thought I had gotten banned from a certain webgame, but was completely unsure as to why. When I asked the webmaster and admins, they said that they hadn't blocked anyone's IP in the last several days. One person suggested that maybe i had gotten someone's IP who also used bellsouth and had gotten banned. he said i should reset my modem and maybe i'd get a new IP number for my pc. i did and it worked. hooray! so, is it possible to get someone else's IP?

Several months ago, I put in a picture cd, and since then, my computer has been working crazy...mostly when I am on the web. My computer freezes, won't shut down (even when doing alt., ctrl delete), and the printer quit working. I have high speed, but it works slow...everytime I type in a search or open a new page, I get one of the following two pages popping up...http 404 not found or http://85. (and someother numbers following that) and it says redirect. I have McAfee virus scan, firewall, anti-abuse, pest patrol and spyware...all of which are fairly new. Anyway, anyone that can offer some help, it would be great...this a been a big headache, and I need to use my printer.

To open an html document from Notepad wont work for me. My instructions tell me to open Notepad. OK. Click on File Open. OK. In the files of type drop down list, select ALL FILES. OK. In the Look in drop-down list display C:/Windows....Nope...it isnt there for me. Where is it? My pc is brand new. After that step, it tells me to open the html folder. I cant find it! Any help at what I could be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In excel there will be a spreadsheet that will have collums such as account #, name, salary period one, salary period two....ect. On the other pages in the workbook I need to create different sheets for each account # summarizing the salary's paid for each individual. These reports need to indicate the account number, name and summarize the salary's. When I ask how would you create this report please explain the types of functions you would use. Turned on Spyware remover, it said hook.dll should be removed immediately. I looked online to see what it was, and it says it's a trojan. so i deleted it. now everytime i open my laptop it says "hook.dll load fail" Is that a problem? How do I go about removing the message?
