using laptop battery efficiently...?

They say when your laptop is pluggen in AC take the battery out to enhance it's life.and put it back in only when it's unplugged.is this for real?

not really. Do use the battery only when necessary and if you do, use it all the way...by this I mean, do not start charging it when it is half empty..this causes it not to charge correctly after time.

Charge to full and use till it's empty
