I saw a good deal on staples.com for a 60 mb flash drive ($7.99-$8.99). Would it be a good idea to purchase it? I'm not planning on majoring in a particularly techy field, so having more space isn't much of a big deal, but I see people tend to get ones with 256 mbs worth of space.

Although it does seem cool to transfer large files from one place to another... XD

Being a meritorious student, I want your help to excel in my academic pursuit. I am visually challenged (Stargardt disease). Despite this disability I am pursuing CA. Wherever possible I try to make use of "text to speech" software so that my study continues even if no body is around to read-out to me
However to use software I need softcopy of a book whichs not easily available.
So I need a scanner with good ocr that can make word files with 95% accuracy.

Kindly let me know all the steps to do Networking Between Windows-2000 as server to Windows-98 as workstations. I have done it, all systems ping with each other but from workstation Server can not be assessed, I want to share Server's 'D' Drive on terminals.

What maker does Alienware use for some parts of their hardware, such as the hard drive or the memory? Do they use 'Alienware' brand? For example, their video cards are nVidia based, but who's the make?

Some examples of hard drive makes are Western Digital and Samsung... Example of a memory maker is Kingston.

So does Alienware manufacture their own branded hardware?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that provides movie times by zip code (in some sort of feed i can display) or has an API to do this. My thought was using the google search API to tap into their movie times databse, but i don't even know if this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreicated. My site is coded in php.

I don't do alot of multi tasking, so I want to take one of these two 2.5 G5 cpus and put it inside another Power Mac whose stock speed is 1.6.
Now in the same situation, Suppose the 2.5 desktop runs DDR2, and the 1.6 desktop that's getting the CPU changed is running on DDR.
Also will it matter if the old 1.6 Power Mac is a 2003 model and the 2.5 Power Mac is late 2005/early 2006?
Seriously, I want blazing speed, and I hardly encounter tasks that require a second CPU. I just want to know if I can combine a 2.5 G5 pull with a old Power Mac 1.6 desktop.

I have recently installed Norton Internet Security on my Home PC and now it takes 15 minutes to start up and is extremely slow. The PC is an HP Pavilion 7915 using Windows XP Pro with a 20GB Hard Drive (15 Used) 128MB 1 GHz Intel Celeron M chip. Can anyone suggest how to speed things up without deleting Norton Internet?

the name of the virus / infection is HKLM , and it slows my computer down when it starts up really bad , i wanna know how can i remove it because i use the full version of Mcafee virus scan and everytime i scan for it ... nothing comes up but when i open this adware program it shows me everything infected but won't remove it because i have to pay too use it.can someone help me ? please no ignorant comments please.

My computer is letting in some spyware, so I've been thinking it's the firewall. And I go to my control panel and then firewall, but it's locking me out and I can't touch anything on my firewall. Is that fixable?? How?? Also, is there a way I can search for the files it's letting in??

Everything is taking too long to load. If i click on a category in yahoo q and a it takes at least thirty to sixty seconds. If I check my email it takes forever. I use Mozilla Firefox. Ninety percent of the time I get the YOUR CONNECTION HAS TIMED OUT message and have to resend.
Others have told me to check my connection.
Here is my dilemna.
I dont know how.
This is my bosses computer
I dont know the account number or who to call
I am using a Toshiba laptop Satellite
When I want to go on the Internet I click on VZ Access Manager
It asks do I want to connect. I click yes.
It takes me to Mozilla Firefox.
There is a thing for bars and the most I can get anywhere in my house is 2.
Verizon is involved somehow.
I want to use Thunderbird for my default email but I dont know who my ISP is. This computer was already up and running when the boss gave it to me.
I am really going crazy waiting for any and all links taking so long. This is supposed to be a fast computer. Help if you can. Thanks
