There are four areas to look for temp files to delete, two specific, two general:

- in C:\Temp
- in the C:\Windows\Temp folder.
- within each user's local profile, in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Local Settings\Temp
- within in each installed program folder (potentially), in C:\Program Files\\???\???

Windows has no way of knowing where in every program and every user profile to find temp files to delete, so sometimes you do have to do it manually.

You can use the Search function to find all files that look like
*.tmp
*.temp
~*.*
for example, then delete them all.

In the net browser page, click on Tools, Options, click on Delete Cookies and Clear History !
Thereafter, go to Windows Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp and process. The temporary files will be permanently deleted.

Are you sure that you are viewing the correct location where your Temporary Internet Files are located?

Deleting Temporary Internet Files will normally work first time but whenever you access the Internet next time, they'll just reappear but obviously only according to the sites you visit.

If this is still a problem, try contacting one of the major computing magazines.

Then again, I believe I heard once that the Internet Explorer 'Clear Temporary Files' doesn't really work, but I could be wrong!

Click on search
Go to all files & folders
paste this next line in the all or part of the file name box
*.tmp,*.chk,~*.*
Under advanced options make sure search system folders and search subfolders boxes are ticked.
Now click search and once complete select all (Cntr A) then delete the lot.
You can save this whole search by going to
File
Save search
Perhaps put it on your desktop for the next time.

Are you talking 'Temporary Internet Files' or Temp files?

As stated previously each time you use the internet, it will create Temporary Internet Files.

Temp files are created by applications each time they are run, unfortunately some programs are not so good at clearing them up afterwards!!

If you are getting loads of temp files it could well be spyware or some other malicious software that you can clean by the methods stated.

the easiest way to manually delete files is go to the run command in windows....type %temp% and this will take you to your temporary folder....then click edit>select all>delete.....this will delete all your temp folders
some files cannot be deleted,as they are still in use or being used by windows still....one way to delete these type of files is to run in safe mode(f8) and delete them this way
there is a cleaning program called ccleaner(http://www.ccleaner.com/),which will delete temp files and basically most other types of files in windows, but allways be carefull using this type of software
good luck

Your system is probably infested with so much spyware that it aint funny to begin with! Its from all those online games, porn sites, gambling sites and downloads you insist on? Keep in mind, you can run antyspyware til hell freezes over but if you dont stop using these sites or the software you thought was free, they will reload the minute you use this crap!
