I saw a good deal on staples.com for a 60 mb flash drive ($7.99-$8.99). Would it be a good idea to purchase it? I'm not planning on majoring in a particularly techy field, so having more space isn't much of a big deal, but I see people tend to get ones with 256 mbs worth of space.

Although it does seem cool to transfer large files from one place to another... XD

Consider buying flash drive up to 1GB as price nowadays is very competitive (",)

Flash drives all use the same chip so simply look for the most amount of memory for the least possible price! Keep in mind tho, 60 mb isnt much! In a matter of days you will wish you had gone bigger! I have seen i gig units for as little as 30 bucks and the prices seem to still be dropping!

With todays file sizes for music and images, I could fill a 60 MB flash device with 2 photos. Opt for a larger flash drive and consider the newer U3 compatible devices that allow you to run certain apps from the flash drive itself on other computers; pretty cool stuff.

Flash drive memory capacity is a factor and along with it the speed or data transfer rate should be considered while purchasing a Flash drive....

depends on what you need it for and how much you are willing to spend.

I'd go to newegg or buy.com

I'd also recommend getting a 1GB flash drive as they are very cheap. The 2GB ones are around $40 bucks now. I have a 4 GB one that I use to xfer lots of audio work I do.. Much easier than carrying a HDD or cd's.
