I run Windows 98 (not second edition)
and I am getting this error message randomly even when no programs or browsers are running:

The system has detected a conflict for IP address 192.168.1.100 with the system having hardware address 00:12:5A:51:C0:54

And every time I get the message, the hardware address is different. Another one that I've seen is: 00:13:10:98:E1:B1.

What could this mean? And what do I do to fix this?
It usually goes away after clicking 'ok' a few times.

This seems to be making my computer from starting up quicker. It takes a long time to get everything loaded and when its done, it has about 10-15 programs running. I had an idea that it might have been in the system config. but i forgot how to access it...

i have trned micro internet security with adaware spybot and windows defender. and im using firefox. yesterday i installed yahoo toolbarw/antispy and it said it found a trojan and trend micro didnt. is it real or is it just a false positive? also if it is real did it remove it if it said it did?

my old video card died. It was a Radeon 9800 pro. I am thinking of getting the geforce 7600 because it is very affordable and it is 2 generations newer than my radeon.

The funny thing is this: The Radeon 9800 pro has a 256 bit memory bus, and the geforce 7600 has a 128 bit memory bus. This was a big factor in picking out a high performance card 2 years ago. Will this mean the geforce 7600 will not be much faster than the old card I had?

Is getting a card with 256 memory bus really important? Should I get a 6800 gt instead of the 7600? Please explain your answer.

I find pop3 port (110) and port 25 are open in my Debian/Linux server.I don't want them and want to block or delete them.I set "DROP" in iptables but it doesn't work.I delete exim4.
