I've already downloaded Xvid & Divx video codec, and it still wouldn't have audio. What do I need?

happened to me tried playing through
divx no sound win med player no sound
played through nero show time with sound
i install the codecs as well

in most cases the audio was not present when the video was encoded.

In rare cases the codec is the problem

If you are using Microsoft Media Player you can download the codec s from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/format/codecdownload.aspx

However if you are using a third-party player, you can download them from www.fourcc.org/codecs.php or http://www.omiod.com/codecs.asp

Alternatively use VideoLan which works without most codecs without any issues

probably bad audio codec

Well, sometimes they just don't have sound, either..
