i have trned micro internet security with adaware spybot and windows defender. and im using firefox. yesterday i installed yahoo toolbarw/antispy and it said it found a trojan and trend micro didnt. is it real or is it just a false positive? also if it is real did it remove it if it said it did?

The problem is that most programs, even reputable ones, don't find everything. If there was one product that found everything, we would all buy it and use it.

Yahoo uses something honest, as far as I know, so you could have had a trojan that trend micro didn't find. If it said it removed it, it probably did.

You could download the free evaluation version of bitdefender for a second (or third) opinion. It plays nice with other antivirus programs.

the reason for that, since u did use the yahootoolbar w/ antispy, ther's a big possibilty that the trojan was already cleaned by that program. So when you scan your system using trend micro it didn't detect it anymore because its already cleaned or deleted.

if you have Windows XP use your Restore to restore your computer back to a earlier settings before you think the virus was there. You might try to install a new anti virus program and keep it up to date click this link for a free and great program

I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.
