Do I save them to a disk and then put them on my new computer that way?

flash drive would be the most convenient way to transfer files from another pc...

You could, "save them to a disk and then put them on my new computer," if you can fit them all onto one disc. The advantage is that you would have a backup hard copy. You could also network the two computers together. You could also, (I prefer this option if you are going to trash the old pc) remove the hard drive from the old pc and install it in the new one as a slave drive.

You CAN email the pics back to yourself, but if you have around 2000 of them like me, it could take VERY long time...the easiest way is to use an external USB harddrive. They will handle alot of data, and they transfere very fast on USB2, and also you will still end up with a nice backup copy of your data on the external drive, once you unhook it! I have 3 of them!

Why don't you put the pics in an email or something and email them to yourself and just download them on your new computer? That's what I did.

you got it right. i think it's the most easy way. burn them to disk and move them that way.
