Im somewhat new to computers, and i got my Dell a little more than a year ago, not realizing what a huge mistake I made. Recently I have been getting into online gaming, like StarCraft and Rainbow Six 3, and have realized how much my Pentium 4 sucks compared to my best friends Athlon 3400. After little play time, my computer sounds like its about to explode and gets ultra laggy to where I cant do anything, so I have to shut it down and let it rest. After some research I decided that im going to build my own computer probably with the Athlon 3800 dual processor but I dont have a lot of money and am trying for under a $400 budget. Some people say the 3800 dual is going to have a huge price drop soon from $150 at newegg.com within the next 2-3 months, but i have no idea. Anyone know about this? I would like to be able to play recent games, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for decent processors. I want something that wont get outdated for atleast 4 years. Thanks

Currently i have a a 1.60gigahertz AMD Athlon XP,128 kb primary memory cache,512 secondary memory cache processor and a Sis- 741 board.My question is,should i just increase the processor (2.4 GB) and stick with the board or should i get a new board with diff. processor?I am building pc and would like to get the best of everything!! What's your opinion?

I bought a product off the internet, the money has come out of my bank account, but the product has not been delivered. I cant get through on the telephone, and the website says it is closed due to maintenance. Is this pure fluke and it will be okay on monday, or am I going to lose my money? Is there a way to claim back my money at all???

1) i have just downloaded the sis 900 l.a.n driver for my motherboard and what i need to know is it safe to install this driver ,as i have my ethernet cable in the motherboards ethernet socket and the internet is working ok,but i wondered if i install the driver i may get a better connection.....should i install it

2)i have also downloaded the sis7018 audio driver ,same question,can i install this,as if i can get the onboard audio working(using pci sounblaster at the moment),i can take the pci card out and have a free pci slot,ok to install?

Near the top right hand corner of a window when I'm on the net, there is something called "links". Can someone tell me in the simplest terms possible, what the function of this button is? i have a amd athlon processor on a sis 730 motherboard,i am using a radeon 9250 pci-bus graphic card,so i have disabled the sis onboard graphics
what i need to know,do i have to download and install the chipset drivers for this board allthough i am using a different graphic device,because sis also have audio and ethernet devices on the board
the computer is working ok at he moment,but i have been having a few network problems,is that due to the sis ethernet device not having the chipset drivers installed
