You better believe it.
At my job, I can pull up a complete list of every website you've ever visited, when you were there, and for how long. I can do this from my computer, while you're logged on and working, and you'll never even know it's happening. I can also read ALL your e-mails and view, copy, or delete any of your files.
The system administrator is GOD. You have absolutely NO secrets from me. Why do you think any company with sense checks us out so thoroughly before hiring us? We hold the keys to the kingdom.

There are programs an employer can install to allow him/her access to whatever is being typed or mailed out from your computer. These programs can run in the background without you ever knowing about it. They can tell which sites you've been too, how long you've been on the internet, what you typed in your email, what your email that was sent to you said, ect.
Basically just monitor your time, if you're allowed on the net, and watch where you go and what you say.

Yes if it's his systems likely everything is monitored sometimes
theres a little eye on the bottom of the screen an administrator
is somewhere keeping an eye on what sights you visits etc......
They don't want people visiting sights that have nothing to do
with work or could get them in legal trouble.
I use to work at a sight that gave us a whole list of places that
were not allowed.

Yes, if they can find out your screen name. Also, most employers have web tracking on their computer networking systems so they would be able to find out where you've been and on what computer terminal. If its a laptop, then they might be able to log into the history of the computer and find out what sites you've gone into. My husband works for Lucent Technologies and he can't look up a lot of sites on his work computer. There are firewalls set up on the system network.

Almost all employers monitor what their employees are doing while on company time and using the companies computers.
If I were you, I would get back to work.

your employer can track anything and everything you do on THEIR computers. They can look at every webpage you do and track every word you type, if they wish. I'm not sure if your employer would do that, but it's possible. Is it worth your job?

There are some tracking softwares available by which u can manage to do these things. These sofwtare are quiet expensive and are mainly implemented by large organsiations. one of the example is McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.

Yes. Various monitors can be set up to allow supervisors to review your activity to various levels. Initially, they may monitor which sites, but if there is a question, a keytracker might be enabled.
