my laptop is suffering fromcode 39, which means that when I go to device manager it says that my audio devices are missing or corrupted...how do I fix this code 39???!!!!

download a free program called Belarc advisor . it will tell u everything u need to know, and all your hotfixes.

Right click on My Computer. Then click on Properties. Then click on Hardware. Then click on Device Manager. Then look under Sound, Video and Game Controllers.

Right click My Computer, select Properties, Select the Hardware tab. Select the first button (devices?), and click on the + besides the "controls for sound, video and games". The name of your audio card should be there.

Goto the control panel and then to audio and devices and check out the hardware...

right click my computer icon
click on properties
clikc on the
hardware tab
click on the device manager tab
click on the
+
next to
sound/video and game controllers
your sound card
device
is there
do not remove it if there
is no
yellow make's over
the device close
off all the open windows
if you cant get sound or your mic dont work when you try to recored your voice do this

windows xp sound / microphone setup

right click my computer icon click on propeties
click on hardware tab
click on device manager
click on the

+

next to sound /video /game/controllers

check to see if there is any yellow makes over the sound driver
if no click off device manager

windows xp settings, sound
make sure your speaker conncetion is in the speaker port
on your sound card ..if you have a SPEAKER box with power set it to on or if your spearks have a power & volume on set too on and turn up the volume on them

click on start / control panel
sound speech,and audio devices, icon
click on change the speaker settings,tab
a sound and audio devices properties box will pop up

volume ,tab
device volume bar , set too high
untick, mute

ckick on advanced,tab
a volume control box will pop up
untick any box that has tick in the mute
click on the volume control box red X too close the
volume control box

speaker settings
click on speaker volume ,tab
left, set the volume level too high
right,set the volume level too high
clikc ok

click on advanced, tab

speakers,tab
speaker setup, set the tab,too desktop stereo speakers

click on perfomance tab,
hardware acceleration, bar,set too, full
sample rate conversion quality bar, set too , best
click ok


now on the click on audio tab,

sound playback, default device , set tab for your sound card
sound recording ,default device, set tab for your sound card

now click on voice tab
voice playback,default device,set tab for your sound card
voice,recording,default device,set tab for your sound card
click on apply & ok

now in the control panel click on the sound and audio devices,icon
tick the box , place volume icon in the taskbar
click apply & ok
close off the control panel


now click on the
volume icon in the taskbar
volume control box will pop up
on the top click on options
then on properties

at the top in mixer device box
click on the tab, set the device for your sound card

in show following volume controls box list

1:tick, volume control
2:tick, wave
3:tick, sw synth
4:tick, front
5:tick, subwoofer
6:tick, center
7:tick, rear
8:tick, cd player
9:tick, line in
10:tick, microphone
11:tick, pc speakers
click on ok

now on the vloume control box
make sure no box has a tick in mute box


1:volume, control, move the bar too the top
2:wave, move the bar too the top
3:sw synth, move the bar too the top
4:front, move the bar too the top
5:subwoofer, move the bar too the top
6:center, move the bar too the top
7:rear, move the bar too the top
8:cd player, move the bar too the top
9:line in, move the bar too the top
10:microphone, move the bar 2 steps up
11:pc spearkers, move the bar too the top


if you only have 2 speakers and not a set of 12 speakers
on the volume control box click on options properties

in show the following volume controls box list
you can untick

1:front
2:subwoofwooer
3:center
4:rear
then click on ok



for windows xp settings, microphone settings
click on start /control panel
sound speech,and audio deices, icon
sound effect manager ,icon
click on speaker configuration ,tab
place a dot in
2 channel mode for stereo speaker output
click on ok close off control panel
restart the computer
restart the computer for windows xp too save the settings
then try your sound
