The library or school (lol, I'm here now)
I know a tiny bit about some computer things...but if you want to be a hacker, don't ask(I don't feel it's ethical sharing what little I know;))

Bill Gates made a way for EVERY community in this country to receive free computer usage and Internet access at your local library. If they are charging you, that is their choice...printing expenses get pretty high. But what I wanted to tell you is that most communities offer FREE COMPUTER CLASSES throughout the year...I teach them... for a lilving! Our classes are awesome... we have a set curriculum in 7 different subject areas and also have one on one (free, too!!) time where you can ask me or the other Tech Trainer any computer question and we'll demonstrate and teach you. Where do you live? Email me and I will send you the links you need to follow. Don't make excuses about the world, simply ask and you shall receive. You are master of your domain. Never give that power over to anyone or any entity but God. Blessings!

Dear Buddy
Internet is quite informative place to learn.
First Decide what you want to learn.
then decide why you want to learn says whay you want to invest you time in learning.
Do you think if i learn selected subject i got --
upgrade in knowledge
promotion in office
just for mental hunger
If you think the subject is usefull for your career.
first choose a free author that will give you good advice over the subject.
But the main problem is when you want to show that skill to somebody he will ask for your assurence of knowledge.means some kinda of degree or some educational program.
Don't think the educational institutaion are just money making gaints.it's really hard to teach a person who don't know any thing.they ask money for just there work+infrasture cost+the salary they pay to there staff+book cost+facility they provise in campus
Any thing above is not free in this world that why a learner need to pay. I think you get the words i want to say.
Just Ask your self will you work for free after you study?
if not then you need to pay.
Any how now why internet is best place for learning
First Thing More option to hire (free/paid) author
Global knowledge standards
You can get free knowledge before seating in real exam
if you don't want to seat in exam don't worry you hard work will always pays you.
One More thing just keep in your mind.Don't set your mind as poor.
Work Hard > Gain knowledge>convert knowledge into money> richer
I hope it will remove any doubt in your mind.
regards

Well, one way you can learn is to not use all caps, which is considered shouting. The second way is not to antagonize those you are asking to help you.
The third way is to ask questions of those in the know, and, while doing that, get books from the library, (free, as far as I know,) and do everything you can to increase your knowledge.
And, if you want to go to school, apply for scholarships, grants, any kind of financial assistance you might be eligible for. But, do NOT expect a free ride, and do NOT insult those you are asking for help.

There is price for every thing sa long as you go and buy something. There is no free lunch! Greed is in every one more or less. Stop think of you as a poor, as long as you have two hands and brain to think you can earn some money through other skills and you could use your earnings for computer education, keep up my friend. they offer free workshops for people like you and other great social services,
If you still cant get help, as a librarian where you can get free or affordable help.
yes I understand, these days everyone is trying to get rich. They charge you for air at the pump, 10 cents for prints, to use the bathroom and even to get broken or otherwise defective stuff( clearence/last call stuff).
start a buisness if you can,its the only way to really be financially free.

same as everyone else learns, just search and explore the net.. I never went to school or take classes to learn the computer. To learn how to diagnose your computer read your manual or go to the computers help section... YOu cant hardly screw it up because you can always restore it to the original settings.. Have fun.. Mess with it a little.. Thats how I learned..

if you know how to use answers.yahoo.com you are a step ahead of most people, poor or rich...and obviously you know how to read...so get yourself a book and maybe a cheap computer
from the salvation army or put an ad on craigslist.org telling them you are poor...and you would like somebody to let you borrow or donate an old computer.

The more time one spends behind a keyboard, the more that they will learn.
Get a yahoo account, then open a geocities.com web page. That will teach you basics of HTML code.
Now, you can teach yourself while you learn.
