Currently i have a a 1.60gigahertz AMD Athlon XP,128 kb primary memory cache,512 secondary memory cache processor and a Sis- 741 board.My question is,should i just increase the processor (2.4 GB) and stick with the board or should i get a new board with diff. processor?I am building pc and would like to get the best of everything!! What's your opinion?

Its a cost benefit thing. You can upgrade different components to get a performance boost but after more then a 150 bucks it may be worth your while to upgrade to a new system or buy a barebones systems and swap your components to it.

If you want the best, I'd strongly recommend you get something other than a SiS chipset.

See if you can find one with orange plastic rectagular capacitors. Not cylindrical aluminum capacitors. I think the orange ones are called tantalum.
