I build computers and have a good understanding about them. My desktop has an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard with an AMD Athlon XP 1.6ghz processor. 512MB RAM, 2 80GB EIDE HDDs, and an ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 7500. (Among other things).
The computer does some strange things. If you leave it plugged in, the power light (and, thus, the computer's power) will flicker on and off at a slow yet increasing speed. This will happen whether or not you press the power button. When it finally powers up and remains powered constantly, the computer (I assume the motherboard speaker) beeps sporatically. Any ideas? Feel free to contact me (REAL EXPERTS ONLY) if you have experienced this with this MB/CPU.
My guess is that it is an old power supply (300W), which has been running for at LEAST 3 years, but I'm not sure. If this is the problem, should I get a more powerful one? Thanks.
