If you have a DVD or CD playing on your pc and want to watch the DVD/CD on your telly screen then you use a special cable to connect from the pc's S video into your telly. Your telly might have a S video as well in which case you need a cable with S video at both ends but your telly may have the red and yellow and white 3.5mm jack slot in which case you get a cable that has S video on one end which goes to your pc and the other end is either 3 cables white, yellow and red or even two cables yellow and red. yellow I think is for the motion and red for audio. so you can then trasfer the motion video and its sound direct to your telly. good luck
