I mean when opening another site and before closing the window.

it is always a good idea to sign out. if you go to a site somewhere else while you are logged into yahoo and that site is using a web tracker that shows the last site you visited they will see your username and password.

As long as you close the browser after you are done with everything, it should be fine. However if you leave the browser open after you signed in and someone else uses the computer they can have access to your account if they visit yahoo.com or its related sites.

if ur on public computer than its necessary otherwise no need to sign out

no. you can just close the page, or just change the address of the website in the address bar. =)
