I had to replace my hard drive but I had no windows program to install. A friend of mine was kind enough to let me use his but now I got this problem playing games cause its ask to install the latest version of directx but Microsoft has to scan and verify that I have a genuine copy of widows . is there a way besides buying my own copy of windows to install directx without Microsoft verifying my copy of windows. I will eventually buy it but right now I'm kind of strap for cash at the moment and I just want to play my game thanks to all in advance for helping me out .

Gmail account? How do you increase your number of invites??

My husband and I were invited to get a gmail account. The orignal invite was sent to my husband and then he sent one to me. Does anyone know why he has 15 invites but I only have 2?? And how and when do you get more invites?

Please every time I clean install computer, I stop getting all Yahoo Group Emails; Please Help! Why is this?

FYI: Clean Install is when I bring computer back to manufacturer specs due to either errors I make in DL'g something and want a clean registry; or an error in the programs that Microsoft recommends a clean install; i.e., a corruption in a program or something like that! Whenever I do this, ALL Yahoo Group mails cease to arrive - even though I've checked edit membership, and everything is a-ok and all names are back in My Contacts for ID'ing as not being spam or other junk! PLEASE HELP ME!

I cant hear any sound from my computer for past 1 hr....ib4 1 hr i opend the computer n unplugged the RAM ..?

and plugged it in..and moved the computer while its on to its table. this caused some hardware pbm. becos of which i cant hear the sound?

Why is my computer making sounds?

My computer keeps making a humming/buzzing sound. It seems to be coming from the back of the computer and it's obviously one of the fans. Computer is working find, but the noise is very annoying. It sounds like a car motor starting and then running for several seconds. It's on and off, about every 40 seconds it keeps happening. The computer has been almost 7 hours now (I usually keep it on all the time, even when im not there). Could the fan be working too hard because of the heat?

I cleaned the fans and vacumed the dust out only a few weeks ago so that can't be the problem.

I have tried to log into my account and it says "Invalid ID or password" I havent changed either. Whats wrong?

I have not changed ID or password. I have used the same ID and password for my yahoo primary account for years. I cannot log into email, messenger, my 360 page, nothing. I have no access to my address book, pictures, IM LOST!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP! Does anyone know how to contact yahoo about this???

how is this possible???

my daughter was on our computer and i came in the room to talk to her. well, the curser on the screen was moving and clicking things and my daughter was NOT touching the mouse. i asked her what is happening and she told me that her friend (in another state) is doing something in our computer. i was so freaked out cause i have never seen that and wondered how this person was able to do this without my permission.

how is this possible? how did this person get into our computer? is this what "hacking" is? how do i know if this is still happening?
