I am curious, if i went out and bought a brand new computer, which brand should i get?

I have a pc, but when i get a new one i want to know what your opinion is on the brand, and i have DSL.

I like to listen to music, watch dvd's, email, burn videos from my digital camera, my kids like to play games.. all on the pc.

You are going to get a lot of different suggestions on which computer to buy before this thread is done.
Because I own one and have never had any problem with it in the four years I've owned it, I would recommend a Dell. In my case, I have the Dell Dimension 4400 with a 20" Monitor.

I also have Verizon DSL and they are a good match.
I'd suggest when you order your computer you get as much memory as you can (RAM: Random Access Memory) This is one thing that will give your computer fast speed.
Also, get the largest screen you can afford, like a 19" or bigger Flat Panel.
Also, make sure to get a really good Graphics Card especially if you are into gaming.

Since you want to use if for music and you want good quality sound, look into 5.1 surround. (whichever company you order your computer from should be able to help you when you call to choose the best speaker system for the money you want to spend...prepare a (check) list of questions before you call them so you get all the information you need)

You'll probably want to get a Windows XP Home or Professional Operating System.

Be sure when you get whichever computer you decide on to install Programs for Virus, Malware, Trojan, etc. control, as well as a Firewall like ZoneAlarm. Since you already have a computer, you know what I'm talking about.

I personally would reccomend getting an HP. Mine is 7 years old and still runs very well. I have never had problems with it. (knock on wood).
