My laptop's CD/DVD-RW drive has been acting really funny. I'd call someone to fix my computer but it's strange that it just happened all of a sudden. Whenever I put a CD or DVD in the drive, the computer makes a weird humming noise like it's trying to read the disk and then gives up. The computer then says that there isn't anything in the drive. I don't know if I need to repair the drive or if it's something I can fix myself.

can i use sata hard drives allong with ide hard drives on the same motherboard? (intel d101ggc)?

I have two ide hard drives, and there are four sata plugs on the motherboard can i have 6 hard drives? or does it not work like that.

Do people remember that sparkly tooth paste once fixed scratched CDs?

I remember growing up, my cousins did the most ghetto things to fix their scratched music CDs (this was of course before normal people got their hands on resurfacesers). One of those things was to put a sparkling tooth paste like Crest (the blue stuff) on the scratches of the CD, and what was funny was IT WORKED LOL!

my memory stick says files are corrupt and unreadable.how can i fix it?

i just had a used "mass storage device" gave to me. when i plugged it in it installed fine but when i try to open anything in it itsays files are corrupt and unreadable.i dont care whats on it now but is there any way to wipe it clean so i can use it,or is it trash? its a iomega,128mb mini drive if that helps.

Can I save a program to floppy disk to put it on another computer and how?

Ok, i have 2 laptops, one(the old one) has a lot of programs that i need and i dont have all the disks with the programs on it. I have been trying to use the transfer tool but i cant get it to work for me, and i need another solution
