"Ripping" Usually refers to "Burning Songs from a CD To your computer"! It sorta means to take from something and put it on to your computer! But that is what it usually is??

downloading music onto your computer from the internet or from a cd (usually in reference to illegal downloading) and then from your computer onto a blank music cd
