The transfer tool is only for profile settings like email info, desktop picture; personal settings and crap like that. It is not something you can use to transfer programs. To get the same programs on the other laptop you need the installation disks. Also floppy disks can only hold 1.44M each which is a very small amount. You probably won't even get all your profile info on there. Better to use a CD burner or a USB key to transfer stuff since they hold much more. Either way though like I said you need the installation disks for the programs.

You could also network them together like the guy before me mentioned but I think that is probably beyond your computer knowledge. His directions are way too short for an inexperienced person to know what he's talking about. I could try to explain it in detail but that would require a lot. Maybe you know someone that could help you? Or maybe someone at a computer store would be willing to show you how.

Floppies suck. That will only work if the program is smaller than 1.44MB.

If you have network cards in both laptops, you can transfer files that way. Just go buy a crossover Ethernet cable (ask the guy at Radio Shack) - costs $5. Connect the two computers and set their IP addresses to something that starts with 192.168. (you do this in Start Menu-> Settings -> Network and Dial-up Connections. Reboot the laptops. Then, go to the one you want to copy to, click Start Menu->Run, then type in \\192.168.(the other two numbers you entered)\c$. This will put you in the C: drive of the other laptop. Then, you can copy all the files you want straight over.

If you have a cd writer on the computer you can save the files to a cd. More than likely a floppy will not work. They do not have enough space on them to hold a whole program normally.

A floppy only has 1.44mb of space, so if your program will fit then YES you can. But you would be better to save the program to CD where you have 700mb of space. But even better you could use a USB flash drive which are extremely cheap and convenient

yes you can use a archive program like win-zip
it can break it into pieces small enough to do so and reassemble them on other PC,but if your older one has usb i would use a flash drive the come in sizes of 256MB to 2Gigs. would make alot faster for you and there not to bad prices and useful.you could also try just networking them and just transferring the files on a LAN
just search xp help for directions on that.
well good luck,hope this helps.
