I need to buy a new cable modem. The only requirement from the cable company is that it be DOCSIS compliant. I'll be hooking it up to a wireless router (probably linksys). Any suggestions as to a good brand/model to look into?

I want to buy a laptop to empty my photoes in it from my camcorder or digi camera when I travel..I'm going to travel in a few days..so I need to deside now:
1-what do U think of "macbook pro" from mac. ?
2-what is the defferance between a laptop & a Pc laptop??

Okay. I know video cards can get very expensive very quick. I am just looking for a video card for my secondary desktop. I do not play any games on it at all. It is just used to test operating systems and software. I found this one on newegg.

i'm using windows xp and i was running adaware to do my usual maintenance. halfway thru it started making this grinding noise for a while and running really slow, and then it just restarted itself. i had to run windows in "last configuration that worked" cuz otherwise it wouldn't start up. but what do i do to fix this? whats wrong? help! i don't wanna pay a couple hundred or more to get it professionally fixed. and adaware shouldn't be doing this to the comp. it never has before.

Every once in a while I will run into a stuck program that will not die - no matter if I right-click and close or run task manager and click the program and click end program. Today Firefox was in just such a hung state and even attempting to kill the processes (having tried the other methods) would not work. After a half hour of screwing with this I had to reboot with the power switch because I couldn't close the thing down for the stuck process. Tips on killing the unkillable?

I've been in and out of consultant programmer positions for the last 15 years (PHP, Java, mySQL, Oracle, SQL Server); however, people only respect and request my business analysis skills. I can't get anyone to take me seriously about my programming. No one has ever complained or been disappointed by my programming skills; but every client jumps to the conclusion that I am better suited to analysis. I get lots of pats-on-the-head for programming but genuine praise and respect for my analysis. I would prefer to focus on the wonderful challenge that programming and design offer... but no one wants to let me do it. Aaaarrgh!!!!!

I had IE6 and installed - unfortunately installed IE7.0 beta and some of my softwares wont work on it so had to revert back to IE6
Problem - and i reverted back..
now- i cant attach the files in the yahoo email using IE6 which is frustrating.
