Need internal DVD drive for computer?

I need an internal DVD drive for my spare computer. How much should i spend? I only need a reader but should i get a writer anyway. I heard that sony drives were good. I saw this one on newegg for $35.

Keep it around that price ($35.00) and you'll be fine. Doesn't matter whether it is a sony, HP, samsung, etc. they all work for a certain amount of time before the lasar gets to weak to do any burning.

if you only need a DVD ROM buy just a ROM and not a re-writer. And most DVD players are pretty much the same with different labels on.
