Have a nice week! :)

Seen these things on TV and films...

Looking like sets of yellow dusbins filled with water... often infront of the splitter barriers forming acceleration or deceleration lanes or other obsticles on their freeway/motorways... so if a car hits them the car is not smashed as it would be if in hit a concrete wedge so if whereing a seat belt you should live. as the water bins absorb the impact.

Why dont we have such things in the UK ans wat other countires have these?

This afternoon while driving. another car going in the opposite direction crossed over the double yellow line, around a blind curve (to pass someone) and almost hit my car head on. I was able to turn into a ditch at the side of the road just in the nick of time. His car hit mine on the left side. He drove away, leaving his side view mirrow on the ground, The lady he was passing saw the whole thing, and told me that she would get his lic plate # and call the cops. Cops came to the side of the road where it happened- minimal damage done to my car. They found the guy, and the cop just called me to say that he was issued several summons, and asked if I will testify. I said yes but, I have
A few questions- Will the guy have to know my name and address? We live in the same town and I don't want him coming after me.
What will happen to him? Jail? suspended licence? Nothing?
I am just in shock that my 4 year old daughter and I could have been killed.
Thanks :-)

Or, is there a way to have the state of Kentucky notify the senior that they need to test them at random and give them a new driving test? This is done in some states but I can't find anything on Kentucky. The notification is usually done by a doctor's office or relative.

Reason 4 asking...some speeding old fogey bumped into the back of my car a while ago, when i asked if he had insurance his reply was 'i assume so!?!' er....you either do or you dont mate! when i advised him to put his hazard lights on to prevent further accidents, he did not have a clue what i was talking about. i had to reach into his car and put them on for him as he dithered about. They seem to be the biggest menaces on the road...if i claimed for the accident my premium will shoot up! its only logical that the older genration re-take their tests at 60, as hearing, eyesight and reaction times deteriorate, and lets face it, i dont know any old folks that will pass that interactive theory test. If this retest was introduced this could reduce congestion on the roads and accidents all at one time...result!! (im not ageist,or trying to run older people off the road im against Anyone who cant drive having access to the road & potentially costing me money through their incompetence!)

You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a drop-off (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is another galloping horse. Both horses are also traveling at the same speed as you . What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

This funeral procession was coming off of a highway ramp & I was traveling down the road where they were to merge onto. There is always constant traffic coming off this ramp so I had no way of knowing this was a funeral. Therefore, I proceeded through the green light because the cars coming off the ramp were supposed to YIELD & the one car pulled right out in front of me as if I should have known. I did NOT know until I got behind the guy & saw his blinkers were on. There were no special flags & if their headlights were on I would not have been able to tell. The ramp curves away from me. Of course I beeped because I had to slam on my brakes. Then I saw the blinkers & felt like an ***. So then they had to act ignorant & cut me off from going around them as they were turning. I know to stop for a funeral but what about when you really don't know it's a funeral procession? I can find info about red lights and stop signs but nothing about a yield sign?

I'm planning to practice driving on a free way this week for the first time of my life..

What's the diff. bet. driving a free way and local(the light)? How do you read the road sign on the free way? is it totally diff. from the local?

Any other advice?

I am from the UK but was recently in USA and was driving Jeep Grand Cherokee. I tried using the cruise control but the only way I could find to turn it off was tapping the breaks. (I did not want to break, but just slow down for something).

Surely this is very annoying to the people behind, especially if they're in a smaller car and cannot see past you?

Here's what happened:

I stopped at a 4-way stop as did the driver to the left of me. I proceeded and once I was a few feet into the interection, so did he and he hit my car, stopped and hit it again, as if he wasn't paying attention or couldn't see my car (he was in a large van). The policeman that came to the scene cited the other driver for failing to yield to my right of way and presented me with a "non-reportable" police report (this is in PA, but I don't know what they mean by "non-reportable"). Will the other driver's insurance be expected to pay for my damages given the information supplied in the police report? I am assuming they would, but I'm still concerned since I can't afford to fix the car myself (it's old and I only carry liability insurance).

Thanks!

Have you ever broken one? Can you just hit it with your bare hand or are you supposed to find something to break it with?

I've just brought a fiat seicento and found that the pedals seem to be too high as my feet are at an odd angle, which hurts them at the top making driving difficult. Perhaps its because i have small feet but i haven't had a problem driving other cars!
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is there anything i can do about this?

I was speeding and running a yellow light when someone turned left in front of me at an intersection with poor visibility. I slammed the brakes and narrowly averted a collision!

Before forgetting about the incident, I was briefly thankful I wasn't on the gsxr because I almost certainly would have wiped out. The pavement was still very wet from the rain!

Anyway, when I hit the brakes the tires made a loud screeching sound and then the wheel and car lurched to the left with a decent amount of force. Everything was fine after that though. Does it sound like I locked the wheels?

I live in TX. Years ago my sister got a ticket for parking right across the street from a neighbors driveway. Is it illegal? I wouldn't like someone parking there either. Then you run a bigger risk of hitting the car behind you.

I have designed a system of shock absorbtion to protect the car passengers even in severe accidents while it is light weight and cost efficient!

On the interstate they don't use turn signals when switching lanes.

They drive 55 in the left lane.

They drive with their bright lights on.

I'm sure that I left out many other pissers too.

Not only are those practices annoying but they are dangerous too.

Where do these people learn how to drive?

American Automotive Manufacturers are behind European and Asian when it comes to safety. Typical excuse – vehicles will cost more and will not be as competitive as they are currently (they are not anyway). Do you believe that by improving safety and quality, our products can be more competitive even if they cost little more?
