I live in TX. Years ago my sister got a ticket for parking right across the street from a neighbors driveway. Is it illegal? I wouldn't like someone parking there either. Then you run a bigger risk of hitting the car behind you.

No thats is not legal.
Anytime you block a driveway or any roadway your in violation of the "right of way" of other drivers.
(even if its YOUR driveway) I know,.....that sucks,...I agree but thats the law,.......it protects you from someone you don't know blocking your driveway and stuff like that as well.
(Dont mess with Texas) c dog from indiana......peace

No it's not illegal to park across from a driveway. What IS illegal is parking within 15 feet of a hydrant or intersection, Parking by a painted curb AND (this is probably what your sister was ticketed for) parking the wrong direction, you gotta park facing the flow of traffic.

It's been years since I've seen a driver's manual. but I do recall something in there about a minimum distance from a driveway. It may have been 6ft but the detail I can't remember. It is inconsiderate at best. So try and not do it.
