Seen these things on TV and films...

Looking like sets of yellow dusbins filled with water... often infront of the splitter barriers forming acceleration or deceleration lanes or other obsticles on their freeway/motorways... so if a car hits them the car is not smashed as it would be if in hit a concrete wedge so if whereing a seat belt you should live. as the water bins absorb the impact.

Why dont we have such things in the UK ans wat other countires have these?

The water bins have been used on the continent for years. As usual the UK thinks it knows better and lead the way by placing concrete blocks to assist drivers. Naturally it helps the car repair trade business : Government having damaged or closed all other aspects of vehicle production.

Yes, it does take HMG a few decades to realise they're a bit safer & more practical than concrete.

I've seen them used in the States to protect roadworks too, more effective than plastic cones!

They are quite a new thing. They are sometimes used here in the UK and are becoming more common.

"anti crash barrier" I don't think they do anything to prevent crashes. They are inanimate. They are also not new, they have been on US highways for 15-20 years.
