No turn signals aren't optional. Safety hazard. check any website for evidence. try these three

No, but apparently it takes a very high IQ to operate a turn signal mechanism. I seem to be the only driver in my town who knows how to make my turn signal work.

45 years ago we used hand signals to tell the traffic where we intended to turn up till 30 years ago we used red light signals for turn signals but the Europeans makers they used amber and we changed ours to amber like the blue over the top of police cars first used in Germany and we adapted them too also disc brakes and many many things the good Europeans have taught us ...

You would THINK they were optional in a lot of cars. I see drivers make turns without signalling every day.But no,they are required on most cars;except for collector cars that have a special antique or classic registration.

I don't know about the signals themselves, but signalling is a legal requirement.

So, unless you want to drive with your arm permenantly out of the window, I suggest you keep your lights in good nick.

you legally do not have to have them in all states especially if they don't have safety sticker programs-as far as being an option the way some people drive you would think that

No there not. But the way people drive you would think so. don't forget the high beam dimmer switch also the switch to turn off the fog lights.
