This funeral procession was coming off of a highway ramp & I was traveling down the road where they were to merge onto. There is always constant traffic coming off this ramp so I had no way of knowing this was a funeral. Therefore, I proceeded through the green light because the cars coming off the ramp were supposed to YIELD & the one car pulled right out in front of me as if I should have known. I did NOT know until I got behind the guy & saw his blinkers were on. There were no special flags & if their headlights were on I would not have been able to tell. The ramp curves away from me. Of course I beeped because I had to slam on my brakes. Then I saw the blinkers & felt like an ***. So then they had to act ignorant & cut me off from going around them as they were turning. I know to stop for a funeral but what about when you really don't know it's a funeral procession? I can find info about red lights and stop signs but nothing about a yield sign?

I don't know what state you are in, but I was always under the impression that vehicles in a funeral procession are supposed to have a magnetic base flag placed on the top of the car to help identify them. Also, they are to proceed slowly, with thier lights on, and follow the car in front of them closely so there can be no confusion.

Doesn't sound to me like that was happening.

I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you handled the situation fine once you figured out what was going on and it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong.

(Good luck with the new addtion to the family.)

Be safe, God Bless.

I wouldn't worry about it. You didn't know and you did ok. Sounds harsh but the world can't come to a complete halt because of anothers tragedy. The rules of the road still apply, so in actual fact they should have let you in realising that you are perhaps an intelligent person and would realise to move out as soon as you saw what was going on. Don't worry, all good. Oh and as far as i know a green light has right of way over a yield.

That exact same thing happened to me. There were no lights flags or motor cycles. I was cought in the middle of an intersection of an off ramp. It was slightly up hill too. Nuttin you can do about it.

You didn't know. Let that be the end of it. On judgment day, do you think it will matter? (no)
