I recently bought a car which had a Prestige brand remote starter installed. Not sure what the model number is, but the keychain remote is the standard 4 button layout with a flashlight on the side.

The buttons are for:
Locking the doors
Unlocking the doors
Honking the horn
The Starter

Now, the problem. Despite just changing the battery, the functions do not seem to want to work. In fact, they work just the same as before I changed the battery. The red LED lights up when I push a button so, presumably a connection of some sort is being made. The flashlight function works 100% of the time and on the first try.

Just to lock or unlock the doors requires several seconds of pushing and re-pushing the button. The remote starter rarely works at all. I don't use the honking button often enough to judge it, but it is probably the same.

Can those of you with more experience suggest something else I might try? Is the problem more likely in the remote or within the system?

When people talk about mpg in city and highway, what does that mean?? What's the difference?
And if a car gets 24 mpg, does that mean if I put just a gallon of gas, that I could drive 24 miles????

It seems no other manufacturer can match the Japanese in terms of product reliability. Is there anything specific about the engineering designs, product testing procedures or manufacturing techniques that makes them so much more reliable than say German or American cars? It would be interesting to know.....

I was in birmingham for 5 days working. I get payed in cash and had to take £350 pounds back with me on the coach. You guessed it. I left the bag on the coach. I've called the company and every number they gave me but no-one is chasing it up no matter how much I call. I've put a lost report on the companies website. I know it's my responsibiltiy, but I feel I should have had more suport on the night I originally called, someone could have checked then? Also, I was the last person off the coach, so either the driver stole it, or he didn't check his coach properly and someone else has! What can i do? Is there nothing? I feel so frustrated, its more than half a months rent!

Which exhaust pipe would be better, in terms of performance, weight (I think it's quite obvious) and durability. Is there actually any real difference in performance, in reference to the material used?

I cannot access the car at all from the inside and have no clue of how to go about getting the broken key out so I can use the spare to access my car. I don't live anywhere near a locksmith so the obvious is out of the question lol.
