Bring a friend who has a couple of children with ADHD; this is much more effective than coffee. (just kidding)

Get a speeding ticket(this works best in Virginia and King NC) - then you will worry the whole time how you are going to pay the ticket off. You will also be paranoid that the cops are watching you the whole trip. This really keeps you on your feet!

I listen to music that get's on my nerves. For example, I don't care for rap music. That usually does the trick.

Make up a game A-Z road signs You have to go in alpabetical order and find a road sign with every letter i the alphabet.
I hope this helps or at least made you laugh,
Have a good day!

Sleep during the day the best you can.

If you have to day do not be afraid to stop and pull over . If you doze off you will be late due to an accident or death.

Keep the car cool, smoke, listen to art bell, coast to coast. Drink a lot can never sleep with a full bladder.

Never use cruse control if you find your self making mistake like slowing up or swerving it is time to pull over.

First of all...you should not drive anywhere without proper rest. A long drive is harder at night. It would be better to get a few hours (minimum) sleep before you go. Even a few hours will make a big difference.
The best thing would be to sleep as long as you can. Get up around 4 or 5 a.m. and get an early start.
Good luck. Be safe.

My cousin made many coast to coast trips and he took a break every two hours got out of the car and did a couple of 220 yard sprints on foot. He always kept the interior of the car as cool as possible.

Don't do it! Your reaction times will be slower and if you have no thought for yourself and your family, think of others families whose lives you might destroy.
