I hope you can follow this okay... I know I can't. It's for school and I'm totally lost. Here's the questions:

Assume that peak torque and horsepower occur at 4000-RPM AND 5700-RPM respectively. Also, assume this enginge has an indicated horsepower of 300 at 5700-RPM.

1. At 5700-RPM, the mechanical efficiency is (A) 10% (B) 75%
(C) 90%

2. The volumetric efficiency is highest at about (A) 1600-RPM
(B) 4000-RPM (C) 5700-RPM.

3. At 5700-RPM, the frictional horsepower is (A) 30 (B) 270
(C) 300

I'm dieing with this question... even if you can only answer one that would be a huge help. Thanks!

It was a high performance 4-door sedan & I think it was originally an Italian concept, but was purchased by one of the big 3... maybe Chrysler. It was being transported to a show in a truck & the truck was involved in an accident & the car was totaled.

I've heard (through third parties) about flex-feul vehicles breaking down more often than gas powered vehicles. Is there any truth to this?

I have read that it is better to start off in a higher gear to decrease torque and the wheels will not tend to spin as much. But the same documents suggest dropping to a lower drive like D1 or D2 on an automatic ???? what difference does it make on an Automatic? It will always start in the lowest gear and work its way up?? Seems to me there is no way to force it to start in a higher gear?

Ok guys can anyone help me here?

I received a message from my driving instructor and it asked if I wanted a lesson for tomorrow at 6.30 pm. When I responded by saying yes please that would be great, she sent me a message back saying that she sent that text on Monday for a lesson yesterday. However the date at the top of the msg asking if i wanted a lesson said ''10 Jan 07 @ 4:40'. Is this date the date she sent the message or the date I received it. I'm asking because she's lied to me before and if she's lied this time I'm cancelling lessons with her.

This is a poll for the worst ever car names - naturally, being a US site, they mean *american* car names, as we all realise that the US doesn't take any notice of the rest of the world.

So, what are the worst car names in the UK?

my own vote would be for the ford KA. How do you pronounce that
I have heard them called K. A., Kuh, and Cahr.
how lame is that? you go into a garage and ask for a windscreen wiper (or whatever) for a ford *Cahr* and they say "ok, but what's the model?" so you have to spell it out for them "K. A."

any other suggestions?
