Unfortunately, studies show men are. Women (who by the way can think with both sides of their brain @ once as oppossed to men-wh can't) have a tendency to get distracted, stressed, or more emotional quicker than men. On the other note, more men suffer from road rage than women...and WE are more emotional? Go figure!

The funny thing is that insurance companies have a well known fact that women drivers have less accidents than men drivers --Thats because the women drivers cause the accidents and then drive off unaware!

Women drivers (most, not all, only about 99%) have no awareness of lane discipline, factors around their vehicle, such as approaching hazards, motorbikes, cyclists, pedestrians etc. As long as they are OK in thier little enclosed space they think all is well with the world. Everyone outside their car has to make way for their incompetence.

Rant over

On the whole men drive more miles than women, so tend to have more experience. However when you have a good woman driver she is usually VERY good. I have noticed that a lot of modern younger women drivers are good. The older ones seem to be less confident and have little awareness of the size of their vehicles, especially when manouvering at slow speed. Men do tend to drive faster and look ahead more than our superior sex.

Older men (25-50) seem to be generally better drivers than older women. However, as insurance can testify, young men (16-20) seem to be generally worse drivers and more prone to accidents than young women. I havn't done a survey, scientific study or anything, but those are my observations.

Depends upon the person. Men usually take more chances than women but I do know that my wife an I have very similar driving skills. We both have clean licenses and enjoy driving. I find that I driver faster on major roads whilst she drives somewhat quicker than me when negotiating the narrow lane leading to our house.

Its relative. Example. There are some women (athletes) that run faster than most of men, but, for a certain and true reason, in athletic games, they participate in different categories, and men are faster. Abut driving, happens almost the same. Since kids, males are more interested in driving than girls. That makes them - sometimes - better drivers.

As i spend most of my time driving, i can honestly say there's no difference between men or woman, just each suffers with their own problems. for instance Woman cannot pre judge a situation as well as a man, where as a man will drive too aggressively, but the worst is both men and woman, are unable to talk on a mobile and concentrate on driving. I cannot tell you how many people are totally distracted while driving by talking on their mobile, they become oblivious of anything going on around them.

Women that's obvious isn`t it
We don't try to prove anything when we get behind a wheel
OK we annoy you guys because we wont get out of your way
We are much safer driver`s there`s more chance we`l get from A to B in one piece
We claim less often on our insurance so that proves we are better drivers

I depends on what is meant by better. Women have less accidents that men because they think more with both sides of their brains so they take in more of the road situation so see a possible accident before it happens. However all the top racing drivers are men because they think manly with one side of their brains so can judge speeds, distances and angles better that women.
