The mechanic says it's the intake gasket and should be replaced or the engine will blow. I asked another mechanic and he says b/c it is cold here, that is just a build up of condensation. He advised me to take the van for long runs instead of short ones. This may remove the sludge build up. What am I to do? Keep driving and hope nothing happens or replace the gasket? Does anyone know how much the cost will be?

I've never heard of this practice before but it would be cool to have that extra power boosting capability to start an engine. If it didn't pose a hazard of course.

I was just curious how many people have noticed something missing when they got their cars back after using valet parking. I personally don't know anyone who's had a valet steal anything, but it still always worries me when I, or a family member, turn our car over to a valet.

Has anyone actually had any items go missing after using valet parking?

Is there anything I can do about that? I know that there is static electricity buildup as I'm driving but I don't remember it doing it before. It just started recently.

Why do European cars (Left hand drive) have the indicator switch on the left of the steering wheel column and Australian Cars have the indicator switch on the right hand side (Right hand drive) of the steering wheel column, yet British right hand drive cars don't follow that pattern (Indicator switch side matching the driving side) and they have the indicator switch on the left of a Right hand drive car? Is it simply because European Left Hand drive cars move the steering wheel column and switches untouched to the right hand side when manufacturing and configuring for Britain .... Or is there some other logical reason?

As someone who has driven European left hand drive cars and Australian right hand side cars, its doesn't feel logical with driving style.

Im looking for as much info on truck driving as you guys can give me. Im going to school in Michigan for firefighting (which I want to be my primary career), but seeing how ill only work about 2 or 3 days a week in that im trying to think of a secondary profession to have on the days off. Ive heard truck driving is good money (especially cross country driving). I enjoy traveling and being on the road, I have no wife or kids, only a dog which I assume could ride with me, and I just think it would be a good fit from the little bit I have heard. Ive even heard that companies will pay for your school if you work for them after? Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated

On 20A westbound into Warsaw, NY, you see signs saying "NO TRUCKS OVER 9 TONS". Growing up in the vicinity, I heard this was because a truck missed the curve at the bottom of the hill and caused a disaster. I cannot find any info (newspaper stories, etc.) online about this incident. Does anyone know an online link to this story? Second best would be someone who was there and can relate the story to me.
